We installed a 3-inch thick black walnut butcher block island in our recent kitchen remodel and we couldn’t be happier with the results. The warmth and richness of the walnut contrasts so nicely with the clean, contemporary white cabinets, countertop and backsplash. It brings a needed natural element to the mix. The timelessness of the wood also ties in more classic elements in our home, like some of our antique furnishings. It turned out to be the perfect surface for us.
